One Direction will host ‘My First Time’ MTV VMA special on Tuesday ahead of their debut performance at the event
Niall Horan and the lads will share their thoughts on Chris Brown, Madonna, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and more
The ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ hitmakers will share their thoughts on the annual Video Music Awards’ most memorable performances in the half-hour show, discussing Chris Brown’s rendition of ‘Billie Jean’ and the infamous performance of ‘Like a Virgin’ by Madonna, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.
The show will also feature segments with artists including Pink, Green Day and Taylor Swift who will take a trip down memory lane by watching their first VMA performances, sharing never-before-heard info about that night and offering advice to One Direction.
The boy band – comprised of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson - shot to fame on 'The X Factor' in 2010 and have since achieved international recognition.
Their second album 'Take Me Home' will see them collaborating with a huge array of writers and producers and as well as reuniting with the likes of Rami Yacoub & Carl Falk and Savan Kotecha, Ed Sheeran and McFly's Tom Fletcher, the record also features input from Dr Luke, Shellback and Toby Gad.
‘One Direction: My First Time’ will air on MTV on Tuesday at 9.30pm while the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards will take place at Los Angeles' Staples Center on Thursday, September 6.
