New documentary focuses on “When Ali Came to Ireland” - VIDEO

Ali has maintained warm memories of his Irish connection. The boxer who hails from Ennis, County Clare has never tried to hide his love for his Irish roots nor have the Irish for Ali. Abe Grady, Ali's maternal great grandfather, was from Ennis, before emmigrating to the USA in 1860. He married an emancipated slave. Abe was the grandfather of Ali's mother, Odessa Lee Grady Clay. Ali was the first "freeman" of Ennis.
