New Colin Farrell flick to feature at 34th Annual Toronto Film Festival

Colin Farrell’s latest film, the Neil Jordan-directed “Ondine,” will feature at the 34th Annual Toronto Film Festival, which takes place from September 10-19.

The film also stars Stephen Rea, Alicja Bachelda and Alison Barry and will have its world premier at the festival in the Special Presentations category.

The movie tells the story of a fisherman (Farrell) who nets a mesmerizing being (Bachelda) that his daughter (Barry) believes possesses magical powers.

Farrell’s character Syracuse falls in love with his catch, but dark things follow the beguiling beauty.

The move was financed by the Irish Film Board, Section 481, RTE and Wayfare Entertainment. 

“Cracks,” which was filmed on location in Dublin and Wicklow and stars former Bond Girl Eva Green, will also be screened during the festival in Toronto.

The movie tells the story of a girls boarding school in England in the 1930s and the troubling relationship between one of the students and a teacher.

Two young Irish actresses, Adele McCann and Zoe Carroll, play major roles in the move. The Jordan Scott-directed film is a co-production between Element Pictures (who also produced “The Wind That Shakes The Barley”) and British production companies Scott Free, Future Films and Antenna 3 Films.
