Tonight Neil Patrick Harris, Christina Hendricks, Stephen Colbet, Patti LuPone, Martha Plimpton, and Jon Cryer will star in the opening night of the New York Philarmonic's staging of "Company".
The stars have all been so busy that they have not had the chance to rehearse with eachother. According to New York Magazine the director of the show Lonny Price allowed the stars to learn their role individually.
Patti LuPone hired a "piano-playing, musical theater-loving pre-med student at the University of Charleston" to help her learn the role while Neil Patrick Harris learned his role via MP3s. Jon Cryer memorized the choreography while watching it on his iPhone.
Harris will play perennial bachelor Bobby while Patti will play the cynical and boozy Joanne.
