Movie of Susan Boyle's life should star Andie MacDowell and Pierce Brosnan

Susan Boyle's brother Gerry has said he believes a movie of her life will be made and that he'd like Kathy Bates to play the Scottish star.

Gerry told RadarOnline.com that he would not be "surprised in the least if there was a film made" of his sister's life, adding he would "personally like to see Kathy Bates play my sister."

if she wasn't available Gerry would like British actress Brenda Blethyn to play the role. The story comes amid persistent reports that "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell will be making a film about the 48-year-old Scottish singer.

Can't say I agree. At 61 Kathy Bates would be 13 years older than Susan Boyle and is unfortunately well past her prime. Since playing Molly Brown in the Titanic movie she has hardly figured in Hollywood. I'm afraid Gerry Boyle is doing his sister no favors here

How about Andi MacDowell? The gorgeous L'Oreal model is 51 and much closer to Susan's age. Andie has Scottish heritage and has already acted in such major blockbusters as 'Four Weddings and a Funeral " and "Groundhog Day."

As for the role of Simon, there is only one choice: ' Pierce Brosnan, the suave Irish-born actor fits the part to a 'T'. As a former James Bond, Simon's considerable ego would be massaged by having such a huge name play him.

As for the nasty sisters, Sharon Osbourne and Amanda Holden, I have some suggestions. Cher's daughter Chastity would play a perfect Sharon and Goldie Hawn, with her ditzy look and mindless machinations would make a perfect Amanda.

You've hit it out of the ballpark on this one, Mr. Roberts. It would be a great movie, I'd love to see it right now. Now, if there's just some way to add Sean Connery to the cast....
If and when this ever happens, I want it to be done with class and taste. Not a made-for-tv movie-but a feature film. Going back over Susan's whole life-childhood etc. Meryl Streep for her mother, for sure. For Susan, a relative unknown talent and resembling her. Oh, and Steven Spielberg direction and John Williams music. Don't ask much, do I?Andie McDowell? Gimme a break.
Surely there have got to be several lookalike actresses to play Susan at various life stages.
What do I think re this article? Nothing good. Sorry. I don't think just because someone is Irish makes them the best person for the role. I did not find any of the mentioned thespians as particularly 'right-on'. The idea of some of them funny, yes, but hopefully this was written tongue in cheek?
While Susan's life would make an interesting movie, I hope they never do it unless she approves of it 100% which I doubt will ever happen. They'd probably concentrate on the whole BGT experience. I watched her go through that nightmare for 7 weeks and don't want to see it again.
Why Andie McDowell? She and Susan don't look the least bit alike. I think it's more important for the actor to look as much as possible like the person they are portraying than that they be the same age. I think Brenda Fricker would be perfect. She is the same size and build and with make-up could look very like Susan.
Crazy. Helena Bonham Carter is perfect.
This is absolutely "spot-on" casting!!! Please make sure you have input when they do cast for this biopic... :)
I really had to laugh when I saw your choice to play Sharon Osborne, since Cher's daughter, Chastity, is well on her way to becoming "Chaz"! What a hoot!
