Award winning Irish American film director Michael Moore has filed $2.7-mln lawsuit against the Weinstein brothers.

Moore's suit alleges that Bob and Harvey Weinstein cheated him out of millions of dollars from profits from his hit documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11."

Moore claims he "delivered an award-winning film that achieved major box office success" and that the Weinstein's company "refused to share equally he fruits of the venture as the partners had agreed."

Moore's wrote, directed and produced the documentary, while the Weinsteins financed and distributed it. All profits, Moore claims, were to be shared equally.

But on Monday Moore's lawyers claimed the Weinsteins hid the amount they actually owed to Moore and that "this case is about classic Hollywood accounting tricks and financial deception perpetrated by Harvey and Bob Weinstein."

The filmmaker says he first uncovered the deception around November 2008 through an audit he commissioned.

According to Moore's suit "the audit revealed highly irregular accounting practices including, among other things, charges to the production for the cost of private jets to fly one of the Weinsteins and his assistant to Europe."

Since it's 2004 release "Fahrenheit 9/11" has made about $222 million, making it the highest-grossing documentary ever.

As for Michael Moore, that repulsive hypocritical fat pig.. he probably needs more money to retire in one of those socialist paradises like Cuba or Venezuela, he so admires. But that will be only after he provides Assange with more $$ to finance his bail and exile in some left-wing mogul's castle, where he can have orgies and rape women with the complete privacy he demands; but ONLY during the free time he can find while going back and forth to the underground bunker where he keeps the documents that facilitated his untoward fame. -- Moore, Assange, Castro, Chavez, Ortega, Morales, Correa... they all deserve each other, and hopefully they'll end up together in some communist pig sty, preferably ASAP!
@akellyny -- Well sir... I've lived in at least two socialist countries: France and Belgium and what you describe is pure fantasy. What I experienced in Belgium was nowhere near what you describe, no free medical or dental care, and certainly no free clothing for children. -- The only reason they give a $$ allowance to expectant mothers is because they need native Belgians to be born, lest they be overrun by Moroccan, Tunisian, Turkish, North African and East European immigrants who are outnumbering the Belgians who continue on the path to national suicide by refusing to reproduce. The same exact situation exists in France! The reality is that there's no such thing as free lunch, there or anywhere, period! -- Instead, the entitlement addicts of both countries, prodded by powerful unions have driven both countries to the verge of fiscal bankruptcy -- as the US will surely be if oVomit is re-elected to another term.
will somebody please dump that fat mother f--ker Moore into a swamp..........anyone who likes this piece of s--t is no freaking friend of mine..
Hey I think that Mr Moore deservers the money. I don't believe that 2.7 million is a lot he probably could have asked for more. I wish we had someone like him in Canada to keep our governments and other institutions in check. Hey jD12269 the truth does hurt doesn't it. Searlit and akellymy you are right on. I agree 100%.
with sharks in unison surrounding him what chance does he have. None.
THAT WAS SUCH A HORRIBLE MOVIE, SCUMBAG MOORE SHOULDN'T HAVE RECEIVED A DIME!
I have to laugh every time I hear someone say something about "socialists." Until you've lived in a country where you don't ever have to worry about going to the doctor or dentist, or worry about paying for college, or worry about buying clothes for your children (when the government gives a child allowance to everyone!), then don't talk about it. Go live there and then speak. Educate yourself!
A deal is a deal. It's not politics, it's business.
Does Irish Central not have any editors on staff?
This is just irony to the max - the man who hates capitalism suing to get more money. It always seems that socialists are the folks who want to be generous with YOUR money, not theirs.
