Mary was much better than Cher, and had it been down to the public vote, I'm sure she'd have gone through. Matt to win.

I think Mary had the best voice of any of them. I am thinking that perhaps they wanted a real young person to win and be 'trendy'. I do think it was political, and not fair. I certainly will buy Mary's CDs when they come out. I hope Louis Walsh will keep backing her.

I don't know what the other singer sounded like but Mary Byrne's performance makes me want to buy her album when it is made. Fabulous depth of voice!
