Although I loved the scenery of Ireland In "The Quiet Man" I didn't like the way John Wayne's charactor treated Maureen O'Hara's charactor. He was dragging her on the ground, and treating her very ruff! That made it difficult to appreciate any romance. I read that the actor and actress were good friends. Great talents, the two of them!

He also liked "Gangs of New York," a bigoted book which defamed my New York City ancestors.
