Famous rocker Lou Reed paid tribute to Susan Boyle last weekend after he helped her make a video for his classic song “Perfect Day”.
The stars had fallen out in recent months when Reed refused Boyle permission to perform his iconic track on America's Got Talent. But it later emerged a legal glitch was the reason Reed pulled the plug on the Scottish performers rendition.
Meanwhile Boyle described Reed as “childish” during her tell all interview with Piers Morgan which was screened over the weekend.
In an unusual twist of events the pair have made amends and collaborated for the music video of Boyle’s rendition of “Perfect Day”, which was set in Scotland.
Reed told the Sunday Mail: "I wanted to create a beautiful and intimate piece shot in Susan's native Scotland and she quickly agreed."
The music video was shot at Lock Lomond earlier this month despite constant wind and rain.
According to E! Weekly, the “Take a Walk on the Wild Side” star came up with the concept himself for the atmospheric music video.
Boyle who is from from Blackburn, West Lothian in Scotland said: "I loved that Lou understood how much it meant to me to film in Scotland. I didn't mind how much it rained or blew a gale - I enjoyed every minute."
A source from the shoot added: "Every element that could have been thrown at us was. Torrential rain, gale force winds and fog.
"There's a stunt double we used during a cliff scene and her wig flew off. Susan was there singing Perfect Day and the weather was the complete opposite."
Susan Boyle's latest album was released on Tuesday.

I think this video and song is absolutely beautiful and stunning. The emotions are just off the chart if one reads between the lines and takes the elements together - the ominous deep music, the cold/rainy foggy weather, the beautiful but stark landscape, her crystal clear pure voice. It is feelings of innocent denial. This is very good of Lou Reed to make the video for Susan. As one of her many fans I am very appreciative and impressed with him for doing so. He is redeemed and shown he was not the cause of the no show for AGT. Thank you Lou Reed for doing this for Susan. You both made a remarkable masterpiece.

Absolutely beautiful. I was envisioning a 50 member choir walking up the mount behind Susan. Felt a tear welling up!!

I have been a big fan of Lou Reed for many years. I can also appreciate the beautiful voice of Ms. Boyle. However, this was not one of her or Lou Reeds best efforts at all.

That's beautiful! Both Susan's singing and the landscape of Scotland! Breathtaking!
