Her Maj. is reputed to have insisted on him wearing "Irish Guard" uniform for his bethrodal. Then he's quoted as referring to his Gran' Ma'am's visit to the greater part of Ireland as like belated access to a locked room since her birth. Then She gives the Irish presdent a state gift of a sterling silver milk jug embossed with the EIIR royal motif on one side and the (un-crowned) harp of Ireland on the other, after speaking Irish at a state banquet at Dublin Castle, and talking of a partnership or equals, and wishing things had been done differently or not at all. Is it just me, or does EIIR miss us terribly, or needs us back in the Commonweatlth to stick her realm back togther again, with the Scots (and Welsh) threatening to leave, and teh Aussies threatening to go republican.
