Irish-American actress Julianne Moore stopped by Jon Stewart’s ‘The Daily Show’ yesterday to talk about her upcoming portrayal of former Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin. The HBO movie ‘Game Change’ about Palin’s now famous run with McCain for the White House in 2008 is drawing some criticism from her supporters.
HBO’s version of the 2008 election is based on the book ‘Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin and the Race of a Lifetime’ by Time magazine editor-at-large Mark Halperin and New York magazine political correspondent and columnist John Heilemann.
In her interview with Jon Stewart, Moore described Sarah Palin as “so polarizing” in today’s both political and cultural landscape.
“Obviously she’s going to hate this,” said Jon Stewart about the film’s portrayal of Palin on the whole. Stewart’s assertion led to Moore pointing out that Palin’s office had refused any involvement with the project.
Moore does, however, insist that the film depicts a “balanced” view of the election, and points to how producers sourced all of their information.
“This is less of a story about Sarah Palin; it’s about those sixty days between her pick and the loss,” said Julianne Moore.
‘Game Change’ airs of Saturday, March 10th on HBO at 9pm.
