Jonathan Rhys Meyers set to star in movie based on ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones’
Irish actor signs on for urban fantasy novel movie adaption
Golden Globe nominee Jonathan Rhys Meyers is set to join the cast of “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones”, a movie adaptation of Cassanda Clare's book.
The fantasy novel follows 15- year-old Clary Fray, played by Lilly Collns, who discovers she is a descendant from a secret cadre of half-angel demon-killing Shadowhunters
According to Empire “The Tudors” actor will play Valentine Morgenstern, a powerful but insane shadow hunter.
Game of Thrones actress Lena Headey and Mad Men’s Jared Harris and Kevin Zegers have also been cast in the movie adaption.
“The Karate Kid’s” Harald Zwart is set to direct and pre-production is due to begin in Toronto this month.
Rhys Meyers, best known for his role in “The Tudors”. The Irish actor has also starred in “Mission: Impossible III” and “Albert Nobbs”. Most recently he signed on to play Dracula in a ten part NBC TV series.
