Madonna snubbed Irish-American actress Lindsay Lohan

Madonna refused to let Lindsay Lohan into a VIP party last week.

But it wasn’t because the Queen of Pop was turned off by the “Mean Girls” star’s hard-partying ways, as might be expected, but because she’s actually jealous of the 23-year-old troubled starlet.

According to Contactmusic.com, Madonna ordered her security team to stop Lohan from entering her private booth at an opening party for the Boom Boom Room nightclub in New York because the singer is upset that the actress was chosen as an artistic adviser to fashion house Emanuel Ungaro.

Madonna, as well as Paris Hilton, was up for the position as well, and had even met with the label’s president Mounir Moufarrige to discuss becoming the artistic adviser herself.

Irish-American actress Lohan will make her debut for the Emanuel Ungaro label at Paris Fashion Week in October.

Or grab a pint and tap your feet to some cool tunes at the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival. / If you prefer your festivals small and intimate, try the harp festivals in Roscommon or the rough and ready horse and pony fairs from Cavan to Cork. Unique and distinctive, the harp holds a special place in Irish entertainment and has come to symbolize the harmony of people and music in Ireland. It’s the earliest musical instrument mentioned in Irish literature and has been used as an official emblem for Ireland since medieval times. Today, it’s on Irish passports and stamps. But there's more: Fleadhs, or festivals, are a major part of Irish entertainment as well as cultural life, and impromptu trad sessions have become the stuff of legend at West Belfast’s Feile an Phobail, the Galway Racing Festival or Kerry’s Puck Fair. Rock and dance music festivals are also big news with the Oxegen Festival, Tennents Vital Belfast and the Electric Picnic held in summer.
