“James Bond’s” Pierce Brosnan joins Owen Wilson in “The Coup”
Brosnan to play secret officer in Southeast Asia
Former 007 actor and Navan man Pierce Brosnan is set to star alongside funnyman Owen Wilson in “The Coup”, an upcoming action thriller, reports Variety.
Wilson will play a man who must protect his family when they get caught in the middle of a violent coup when rebels attack their Southeast Asia home. Brosnan will play a mysterious government operative.
Producer of the upcoming movie, Steve Alexander, said, “Having Pierce step into the role of a mysterious and ultimately heroic government operative is the perfect complement to Owen's everyman dilemma.”
Brosnan is best known for his role as “James Bond”. He starred in four movies before Daniel Craig took over in 2005.
John Erick Dowdle (“Quarantine”, “Devil”) will direct from a script he co-wrote with his brother Drew.
“The Coup” starts filming in October.
