Rosie O'Donnell made the announcement on her blog on Monday that she would be moving to Harpo, Oprah Winfrey’s company in Chicago this fall to host her own talk show.

She also said she would be starting websites and magazines around the globe leading to speculation that O'Donnell would be taking over from the Queen of talk shows Oprah Winfrey.

O'Donnell will be starting her own talk show in the fall on Oprah's OWN network but she has no plans to take over from the Oprah. However she did thank Oprah and talk about how excited she is about working with Harpo in Chicago.

In her video blog O'Donnell said "I just wanted to say hi, and I'm coming to Chicago…It's a huge thrill for me, and I'm beyond the beyond….Thank you Oprah, and thank all of you who will be sticking around and helping us make a kick-ass show for the Oprah Winfrey Network."

She added, chastising one of her children making noise in the background, "Quiet. Mommy's working."

O'Donnell won six Emmy's in row for her previous talk show "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" which ran from 1996 to 2002. O'Donnell was formerly a host on "The View".

In a statement issued by Oprah she said "I'm delighted to welcome Rosie to the studio I've called home for so many years. Speaking from experience, she will be working with the best team in television in one of the greatest cities in the world."

And quite the show O’Donnell plans to make! According to reports in People Rosie has said "I want to build on what Oprah began and excelled at for 25 years, in my own style and with new adaptations and ideas. I would like this show to make a difference in viewer's lives, to be real, uplifting, authentic and focus on life, love and laughter."

Other than Oprah, who cares?
I never watch network television. So I do not care, but Rosie is a pain. Rosie, we all have tragic stories about our ancester in Ireland. Most of those stories were buried with our ancesters. Rosie, your going to die sometime of something or another. So what's the big deal about Cancer, although it would be interesting it you got prostrate cancer. Rosie, think about the babies in the womb, that are being killed with your approval. They never get a chance to breath, get cancer, suffer the way your ancesters did, or get cancer. Rosie, you are pathetic.
Venom! Venom! Venom! If you had seen the "Who Do You Think You Are?" episode, you would have been witness to her catharsis of her family history. I did. Give her a chance. Everybody deserves more than a couple chances at making a living. No one is perfect. I for one will give it a look. She may be some of the things said below, but she is also intelligent and witty. Killer sense of humor. Give her a break. One more person employed---and a few others because of it, no doubt!
Much like the winter in the northeast US she is never going to go away.
Has Oprah come out of the closet? Rosie had her shot at her own show. She screwed it and the stations who carried it big time. This woman should have her own show from the rubber room at belvue.
Is all of this supposed to account for the fact that she is an angry, emotionally-disturbed militant lesbian? I have had homosexual friends (male and female) most of my life and NONE of them took their emotional illness to her level.
