I think these music video clips are a terrific idea, particularly to start the weekend. I concur with Niall's choice, being of a similar vintage, and a Dubliner. Luke Kelly's rendition of this Patrick Kavanagh classic is surely one of the best of many a good Irish ballad. Bono once spoke of seeing Luke walking across O'Connell Street with his characteristic Celtic flame red hair, and rugged complexion. Tragic he died so young of a brain haemorrhage. Planxty one also. There absolutelly timeless, like Christie himself. The Muppets rendition of characteristic Irish sentimentality was a hoot and a half, as Kevin MacAleer says. Couldn't make out which was Gerry and which was Martin. And if that was Peter Robinson in the middle. Keep up the disc-jockeying, IrishCentral.
