Iranian authorizes are planning to sue Hollywood over the allegedly "unrealistic portrayal" of the country in the Oscar-winning movie ‘Argo’.

Several media outlets in Iran reported Tuesday that French lawyer Isabelle Coutant-Peyre is in the country for talks with officials over a potential lawsuit.

The decision on progressing with a lawsuit came after a group of Iranian cultural officials and movie critics gave a private screening of the movie in a Tehran theater late Monday, the New York Post reports.

The lawyer told the semiofficial Mehr news agency that she intends to start a campaign to show that Argo is a lie.

"We will be able to block distributors of the movie, force them to apologize and challenge them to confess that the movie is nothing but a sheer lie," the lawyer said.

Directed by Ben Affleck, ‘Argo’ won an Oscar for Best Movie at the 85th Annual Academy Awards on February 24. It is based on the escape of six American hostages from the besieged US Embassy in Tehran in 1979.

After its success at the Oscars, Iranian officials dismissed the movie as pro-CIA, anti-Iran propaganda.
