1.    Born on the on 22 December 1949 on the Isle of Man, United Kingdom, to Barbara and Hugh Gibb.

2.    A twin, he was born just 30 minutes ahead of his twin brother, Maurice. The pair, along with their older brother, Barry, would later become the dynamic trio known as the Bee Gees.

3.    He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as a member of the Bee Gees, in 1997.

4.    According to IMDB, in 1967, he was on board a train that derailed with 49 deaths at Hither Green, south of London, England, UK.

5.    He and the Bee Gees were awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording at 6845 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood.

6.    Awarded a CBE, or Commander of the Order of British Empire, by Queen Elizabeth II in the New Year's Eve Honors List 2001.

7.    His twin brother Maurice died suddenly aged 53.

8.    The band’s 1970s "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack album became one of the fastest selling albums of all time.

9.    One of the last songs he composed was "The Titanic Requiem" with the help of his son, RJ.

10.    He was a was a vegan who did not drink alcohol.
