HBO’s “Game of Thrones” is set be to the most anticipated show of 2011. In fact TV.com described the series, filmed in Northern Ireland, as “the best thing that happened to TV.”
The TV Squad similarly predicts that the show, which tell the story of knights, battles, kings, palaces and intrigue, will “know us sideways”.
The series was filmed at the Paint Hall in Belfast and wrapped in December and is expect to air on HBO in April.
The fantasy series is back on George R.R. Martin’s book “A Song of the Ice and Fire” novels.
Last month Martin wrote on his blog “Principal photography on HBO's first season of Game of Thrones has now wrapped. Which is not to say the work is done. Now comes editing, special effects, scoring and all the other behind-the-scenes stuff that makes up post production."
The show will star Sean Bean, Lena Headey, Aiden Gillen and former “Skins” actor Joe Dempsie.
