The 'Fatal Attraction' star has reportedly agreed to portray the Scottish singing sensation in a biopic charting her incredible to rise to worldwide fame, starting from her appearance on Simon Cowell's TV show 'Britain's Got Talent' to being interviewed by Oprah Winfrey and singing for the Pope.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "The film is full steam ahead now the leading role is sorted. It was always going to be a tricky one to cast. Susan's incredible story is so well-known across the planet that the film is bound to go down a storm.

"Glenn has played some imposing women in the past including Alex Forrest, who boils the pet rabbit in 'Fatal Attraction'. But this might just be her biggest role yet."

Discussions for the film had been ongoing for some time, and although Susan, 49, wanted little known TV actress Elaine C Smith - who is also from Scotland - to play her on the big screen, bosses wanted a major Hollywood name for the role and decided on Glenn, 63, early on.
Shooting on the movie is rumoured to be going to start this year.

Glenn Close is too old. I don't think there is enough make-up in Hollywood to have us believing 65 year old Glenn is 47 year old Susan at BGT. Kathy Bates would have been a more believable choice.
I remember way back when -- Glenn Close played in an open air theater in Williamsburg, VA. She is a fine actress of stage and screen. Susan Boyle's role will be played out with the fine pedigree of an artist who knows the perfect pitch in any role --as does Susan -- who hits the right notes in, 'I Dreamed a Dream'.
The headline should read The Sun, of London, Says Close to Play Boyle, because no one else is saying it.
Strange choice no?
