Jane Lynch seemed to channel her, no holes barred, no nonsense, character Sue Sylvester from ‘Glee’ when she gave the introductory speech at the D9 tech conference. Her spoof speech hit out hard against The Daily, Wall Street Journal, Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck and others.
Lynch was given power as acting chief of News Corp for the day in the spoof. Fox broadcast network is part of News Corp and of course Lynch’s employers, as home of “Glee”. D9 which is put on by All Things Digital is also owned by News Corp.
The CEO for the day, Lynch itemized the plans that she would make while Rupert Murdoch was in China. First she went for the iPad publication The Daily saying she would shut it down. They she announced that she would integrate the comic strip “Family Circus” into The Wall Street Journal.
Then she went for the heavy hits. She said “I'm launching a Fox News investigation into the young and fresh face cast of 'Glee.'” She was of course poking fun at Fox News’ coverage of President Obama and the birth certificate drama.
She continued “I have some inside information and I don't believe one of them are real Americans. I've also convinced Glenn Beck to stay on at Fox for one final gig - as a dying patient 'House' -- with a horrendous malady. His sickness is consuming him from the inside out."
Then Lynch moved on to Sarah Palin. She said “I'm pretty sure we got Sarah Palin to do a guest spot on 'Glee.' She'll perform an original tune I penned: 'Look at Me, I'm Batsh*t Crazy."
