Undoubtedly Molly Bloom's soliloquy is an accurate revelation of her innermost thoughts and desires. Having said that, I'm also reminded of George B. Shaw's comment on Joyce's "Ulysses": "unadultared filth". My favorite Joycean piece is his account of the deep snowfall in Ireland, especially when he mention's how it covered the grave of Michael Furey in a Westtern cemetery. Joyce's "The Dead" becomes very much alive in the film of that title, especially the great song "The Lark of Aughrim". By no means do I consider myself a fan of Joyce, but I can well understand why Joyceanism becomes self-perpertuating.
