Susan, in Japan in December

Male admirers of Susan Boyle are already arranging to buy her flowers for Valentine’s Day. Members of the Susan Boyle fansite forum started the petition earlier this week.

The men have set up a Paypal account, and suggest a contribution of $15. “This is only for the men in the site,” the poster says.

Contributors can give money anonymously, but if they show their name it will be added to a card for Susan.

The 48-year-old world famous singer, who prior to her appearance on “Britain’s Got Talent,” said she had never been kissed, will likely get plenty of attention this Valentine’s.  The singer has been a media sensation, appearing on everything from Oprah to Japanese TV. Sales of her album, “I Dreamed a Dream” have helped to boost Sony’s revenues by 2 percent in the third quarter of 2009.

Millions of viewers have been watched Susan’s performances. Yet she joked, modestly, "YouTube is fairly new to me," adding, "The only tube I knew was a tube of Smarties."

Happy Valentine’s Susan, you deserve it.

So what you fans are saying is that Susan doesn't own a computer, never reads the internet, and the flowers would have been a surprise. Are you also saying that no-one in Blackburn owns a computer or has access to the internet. Are you also saying that no member of her family owns a computer or has access to the internet. Hey, Suze, did you hear some of your fans are sending you Valentine Day flowers. Get real people and stop this attack on Irish Central. Nothing is private on the internet.
I wonder if these same guys did the same when they wanted special attention from their favourite teacher. Time to grow up boys.
Fellow Fans, No harm done. Susan has never had a computor, and probably still doesn't; she likely can't even type. So I doubt she logs onto any website without assistance, and I doubt an assistant is going to show her something that's supposed to be a surprise. She also probably never uses google by herself or reads the Irish Central online unless an assistant or friend shows it to her. After all, she's in Scotland and this is not a local paper to her. So my guess is that she is still blissfully ignorant about the planned flowers. Having said that, I'm pretty sure one or two of her "minders" likely does know because of this leak. Which could be a good thing to make sure she is there to recieve the flowers when they come. And/or if she's not there, get them to her right away.
Hold on - the news of this was on GOOGLE last NIGHT a full 10 hours before this article was even written. Like it or not, Ms. Kelly was just doing her job and happened to get to it first. I am sure she won't be the last.
What were you thinking? Why ever would you want to spoil the fun for Susan and her fans?
This story could have waited untill after the flowers were delivered!!!!! Shame on you!!!!
Ruin the surprise how? It's not like Susan reads Irish Central or susan-boyle.com. The fact that Irish Central gets story ideas from susan-boyle.com is pathetic lol.
Oh and... a very genuine, sincere apology is in order for this one. Bad bad bad bad taste and tacky
I have in the past become your fan because of your Susan articles but am terribly disappointed that you would do this and ruin the surprise. Shame on you... you are taking tabloid journalism to new lows and that is not easy to do.
You get your information by reading Susan-Boyle.com? The flowers were supposed to be a surprise and now Susan will probably find out about them because of your article. If you had to write the article it would have been better to leave off the financial details! Shaaaaame!!!
How could you do this Ms Kelly? What a shame!
Oh, poo on you for spoiling the guys' surprise! And a lovely gesture it is indeed for these male fans to make! But you need to be less of a party-pooper!
Susan's got such great fans. :)
What a sweet and thoughtful thing to do!___________Ms. Kelly, shame on you.
Antoinette, how could you? I usually go along with articles on here because they are generally favorable to Susan. However, I have to agree with some of the other posters on here. This was supposed to be a surprise for Susan and I'm disappointed that you found the info and put it on the internet. Fran L.
I think it is a shame that you felt it necessary to try to spoil such a lovely surprise for Susan simply to have something to write about. How would you feel, Antoinette, if someone were planning such a cool surprise for you and someone told you about it. I'm sure you didn't think it through but it is still a shame.
Oh, Susan. Happy Valentines day. Better have a huge vase and like tons of chocolate :-)
I love the gesture and think it's a great idea. I do believe that news article authors need to quit giving the nutshell synopsis of who Susan is. I think everyone on the planet knows Susan Boyle's story. No one is reminding the readers of who Michael Jackson is (was) !?!?!?
Can't you find anything else to write about? This is not your surprise to spoil or blab to the world a week ahead of time. Why don't you wait until after and use it as a story? This is a pathetic scrounging around for something to write. Go do your own research instead of just reading the blogs.
Gee thanks, Antoinette! Nice of you to splash this info all over cyberspace! NOT!
Maybe not very fair to "spill the beans"...especially with financial details...Anyway, considering the number of devoted fans Susan has around the world, she is sure to be showered in flowers on Valentine's Day!!! Never been kissed? They'll never stop!!!
