David Fincher has released an extended trailer of his upcoming film “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”.

Starring Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander and Daniel Craig as Mikael Blomkvist, the first Hollywood adaption of the Stieg Larsson Millennium Trilogy is due out in December 21st. The new trailer establishes the roles of the two leading characters and offers viewers an insight into how the two join forces to solve an age-old murder.

Salander described by her employer in the trailer as “one of the best investigators I have”, is a petit, pale skinned character, dressed in black from head to toe with several facial piercings. Mara underwent a complete transformation for the role.

Fincher who also directed “The Fight Club” and ‘Social Network” released a short fast paced trailer earlier this year.
