They probably weren't wearing the proper store's plastic bags, therefore the mistake.

A definite "Whoops" for the world's most prestigious cultural festival to so blithely treat their fellow Celts! Fortunately, it looks like everyone has handled it with appropriate good will and good humor. As the button I usually wear on St. Partick's Day in the U.S. reads, IRELAND: GEM OF THE BRITISH ISLES!
