“People never knew I danced until I was 16 or 17,” said Tristan MacManus in a recent “Good Morning America” interview.

They know he’s a dancer now; the Dublin native is one of the newest additions to ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” and has been partnered with attorney and TV host Nancy Grace.

MacManus shared a healthy balance of dancing and football while growing up in Dublin. “I used to go play football matches in the morning and I’d go straight from me football game to a dance competition,” said MacManus.

It’s evident that it was won MacManus’ heart, as he travelled the world both teaching and performing.

MacManus explains how he’s grateful for his supportive upbringing, and happy with where he is now. “You don’t realize that there’s a lot of money that goes into that.  Yeah, so you kind of take it for granted a bit, and I think I did that for a long time, and  it’s nice now to kind of have, for it to pay off a little bit” says MacManus of his experience with dance.

“I put a lot of hard work in, and it’s … I can be proud of myself, for the work that I put in, but … I think it’s nice to be able to give something, as well.” At only 29-years-old, MacManus has every right to be proud.

“Dancing with the Stars” partner Nancy Grace characterized her partner as a “purist.”

“You are not going to see him — even though I’ve asked him to — rip off his shirt or do a stunt,” she said.

It seems Nancy isn’t the only one who would like to see a topless Tristan. Twitter was abuzz after his first few performances with fans swooning about the Dublin-native’s good looks and good moves.

Which, of course, begs the question - are there any girls who have claimed the dancer’s heart? MacManus says in an ABC News video that’s he isn’t “happily” single, but that he is only focused on the present at the moment.

Tune in to ABC on Mondays and Tuesdays live at 8pm EST to cheer on “Team MacGrace”

He's got a lovely accent (and the rest of him is nice too) but it's surprisingly strong for a Dubliner, no? I read that he's from Bray, is that considered a separate town or is it like a suburb of Dublin? Anyway, Tristan is a doll and he seems like a kind young feller too.
Tristan seems to be a good young Irish gentleman, doing a fine job representing Ireland. Sort of funny, though, how they comment on how hard his accent is to understand! Sounds lovely to me - an Irish accent is one of the most beautiful sounds on earth!
WOW! Stop the press......Tristan blew me socks off...lol Isn't it always the way, if only I was 29 again. Cheering for Nancy & Tristan. Peace
Please - keep posting stories about Tristan! I practically melted last night when he insisted that he was at fault, that he let Nancy down when she couldn't get a step. It made all the difference in the world and she had a great dance last night. More Tristan!
