Conan O'Brien to hit the stage in giant comedy tour

Former 'Tonight Show' host announces theater tour, hitting 30 U.S. cities

Irish American talk-TV star Conan O'Brien, who got a big fat check (about $32.5 million) to give up his "Tonight Show" slot, will team up with his colleague Andy Richter and the show's band to bring a lot of laughs to America.

O'Brien promises the show, titled, "Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour," will include "a night of music, comedy, hugging and the occasional awkward silence."

The show beings on April 12 in Oregon and concludes in Atlanta on June 14. The tour is scheduled to visit 20 states, and also Canada. The colorful Irishman will appear in New York at Radio City Music hall on June 1 and 2.

O'Brien joked: "It was either a massive 30-city tour or start helping out around the house." His settlement with NBC prohibited him from appearing on television until after Sept. 1.

O'Brien has already been inundated with requests for more shows and has already agreed to add additional shows in New York, Chicago and Boston.

The comedian, who recently joked that he only just discovered Twitter since being unemployed" announced the tour on his Twitter page Thursday morning. Ticket prices will start at $39.50.
