Chris Brown unable to play Ireland as visa is denied
Chris Brown has had to cancel the Irish and United Kingdom leg of his “Chris Brown’s Fan Appreciation Tour” as he has been denied a work visa.
The British Home Office released a statement. It read “We reserve the right to refuse entry to the U.K. to anyone guilty of a serious criminal offense. Public safety is one of our primary concerns. ... Each application to enter the U.K. is considered on its individual merits.”
Last year Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault for attacking his then girlfriend Rihanna. He was sentenced to 180 days of community service, domestic-abuse counseling and five years probation.
His tour was to be bring him to Cork and Dublin but the news became official when Brown posted on his twitter account. He said “SORRY to all the fans in Europe! My tour is cancelled ... I'm pretty sure y'all know. My entry was denied in your country. I love you. SORRY!!”
A spokesperson for Brown also issued a statement which read “Due to issues surrounding his work visas, [the] Ireland and United Kingdom leg of Chris Brown's Fan Appreciation Tour has been postponed ... Chris looks forward to performing for his fans abroad in the near future and thanks them for their continued support."
Brown’s tour had sold well in Ireland with a second date added to his Dublin appearance. Brown has said that he will return. That will probably have to wait until he has served his probation in 2014.
It seemed that all this bad news was getting Brown down on Monday when he tweeted “U ever feel like the storm clouds are too thick for any sunshine to get through?”
