Played more Irish-American cops, priests, and others than you could shake a stick at. I'll always treasure his "Pappy O'Daniel" in "O Brother Where Art Thou", a great film. Durning was in many.

I always liked his acting,
though I didn't know about his
history. He was right about
acting helping to deal with PTSD.
May he rest in Peace.
