Son of irish immigrants was also a World War 2 hero

RIP, Mr. Durning. He was a top notch actor. Interesting about his history.
Played more Irish-American cops, priests, and others than you could shake a stick at. I'll always treasure his "Pappy O'Daniel" in "O Brother Where Art Thou", a great film. Durning was in many.
I'll never forget his role as the corrupt cop in "The Sting"!
RIP Charles Durning...
I always liked his acting, though I didn't know about his history. He was right about acting helping to deal with PTSD. May he rest in Peace.
