New Irish comedy thriller, “The Guard”, starring Brendan Gleeson and Don Cheadle will be screened at the Berlin International Film Festival.

The movie was premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, in Utah, later this month. It will then be screened as part of the Panorama programme in Berlin.

Directed by John Michael McDonagh, the movie is set in the west of IrelandSergeant Gerry Boyle, played by Brendan Gleeson, has his routine disrupted by the arrival of Wendell Everett (Don Cheadle), an FBI investigator on the trail of cocaine smugglers.

The movie also stars Fionnuala Flanagan, Liam Cunningham and Mark Strong.

Wow and opening Sundance too. What an incredible cast. Really looking forward to seeing this one. Brendan Gleeson is great in every role he plays.
