We're not kidding. The Fox News anchor is slamming Aniston, 41, for saying that women don't need men to have kids.
'She's throwing a message out to 12-year-olds and 13-year-olds that, 'Hey you don't need a guy. You don't need a dad,' he ranted on his FOX News show this week. 'That is destructive to our society.'
O'Reilly failed to elaborate if he meant conception or fatherhood, but in either case he saw no room for debate.
Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson also chimed in, 'She is glamorizing single parenthood.'
Apparently we wouldn't want to ever celebrate that. The more appropriate response may be to feel ashamed. OK then.
In her latest romantic comedy 'The Switch' (which arrives on August 20), Aniston plays Kassie, a single woman seeking a sperm donor.
At a weekend press conference, the single actress told reporters: 'Women are realizing it more and more knowing that they don't have to settle with a man just to have that child. Times have changed and that is also what is amazing is that we do have so many options these days, as opposed to our parents' days when you can't have children because you have waited too long.'
When she's not destroying society Aniston is currently rumored to be dating Saturday Night Live star Jason Sudeikis.

Well met and good on you janetelayne.
RobbCobb | Sep 12, 2010, 03:20 PM EDT
Big deal - Bill isn't exactly father type material, but Jen certainly has some "O" factor hotness. Candace Bergen said the same stuff back in the 90's when she was playing "Murphy Brown" and it started all kinds of debate. Dan Quale, vice president at the time, became a media ass hat (more so than he was already) for chiming in on this one. Usually traditional families are great and some studies have been done that show kids benefit from having both a mom and dad at home, but enough studies have been done, and incedence have occured that show just because a man is present, doesn't mean it's going to be an idealic home for children.

Jen can't keep a man. Hmm Not good enough in bed to keep a man.
Christisall | Aug 20, 2010, 09:49 AM EDT
Taranoconnor has got it right.
Christisall | Aug 20, 2010, 09:48 AM EDT
Yes. Monsoonman, and that is what is wrong with America.
Christisall | Aug 20, 2010, 09:46 AM EDT
to jaynetelane: the answer is that God gave eachof us free will and you exercised yours. God may have willed you to make this decision because He may have known that youa lone would love this child.

I think Jen aniston is a ditz. O'Reilly's got it right!

On 4/18/1982 while pursuing a film career in Hollywood, I became a Born-again Christian which was and remains the best decision of my life. I was age 33, the same age as my Lord & Savior when He began His ministry. Yet unlike Him, I had every hope of being married and having my own natural children. But evidently He had other plans for me that did not include marriage but did include motherhood. When I was 44, He brought into my life a very damaged four year old child that nobody wanted except me. My son is now 22 years old and I raised him without a man in my life other than the men at my church who mentored him. At age 60, He brought another damaged four year old into my life. My daughter is now six and I am still single. Is this how I thought my life would go? No! I wanted my own husband and natural children. So, my question is, if Father God only wants women with husbands to have children, then how do you explain my situation? If I had said no to these two precious children God has given me, I would have missed out on the tremendous blessings I have received from being their mother. Has it been easy for me to raise children alone? No, it has not and I certainly do not have the finances movie stars have, but God has always provided. My son tells me all the time that I saved his life.

Monsoonman | Aug 14, 2010, 09:21 PM EDT
The single mom in America has the government as the father to these children.
ganjadec | Aug 14, 2010, 11:06 AM EDT
Maybe a woman doesn't need a man to have a child. But she sure as hell needs one to bring him/her up. Stats prove it.
feliciamaisey | Aug 14, 2010, 12:00 AM EDT
What idiosy is this--there is nothing wrong with being a single parent, nor is there anything wrong with a couple parenting their children and in both cases ONLY IF both parents are truly committed to doing what is best for the child--is Bill Idiot condemning Halle Berry too? What Anniston said is that women have options if they don't find the guy, they are not condemned to a life without a child--with all the kids in the world, who need a loving h9me with or without a parent (meaning single parent), she has a point--they would be only to happy to have a mom who'd love them and provide.
TaranOconner | Aug 13, 2010, 02:40 PM EDT
It takes two to raise a 'Balanced' child--A Reliable Dad and a Responsible Mom. Look at the shape the World is in with our Divorce rates, absent fathers and unreliable Mothers. Sorry for the World in general. Confusion, unhappiness and unrealized potential for us as a Society. Loving and Devoted Parents are a Rarity nowadays. What a Shame.
PhlutiePhan | Aug 13, 2010, 02:11 PM EDT
The problem is to define if JA is just "ditzy" or just plain evil. Otherwise, all of the problems with the pedophile priestsin Ireland can be viewed as just a "civil liberties" issue which can be legislated into reality. JA is being called to task for being severely irresponsible. Isn't that what the show "Friends" was really all about, being irresponsible and thinking that it was funny?
DaisysMom | Aug 13, 2010, 01:10 PM EDT
I am sad for those who think men are irrelevant when having and raising a child.
shirleyo | Aug 13, 2010, 11:30 AM EDT
Bill O'Reilly's stupid comments don't even merit conversation.
Barbaracvm | Aug 13, 2010, 11:28 AM EDT
This explains why she lied to former husband Brad Pitt. He wanted children - she did not. He married her thinking she would in a few years get pregnant. No wonder he left her. She is an idiot.
JamesMurphy | Aug 13, 2010, 11:22 AM EDT
Well, of course, Aniston is right. O'Reilly is also right, which puts him in left-field. He should stick to what he knows best--making people laugh.
Kevin325 | Aug 13, 2010, 10:34 AM EDT
Women today have many choices, which is good. However, when you have more money than brains you can do anything you want to and people will listen to you.
Portia777 | Aug 13, 2010, 09:42 AM EDT
O Reilly is showing how Patriarchal he is and his ignorance of the past when women priestesses had children and raised them without men. They were called virgins by the way because they were self sufficient and did not need men to support them. Then along came controlling Roman Empire killing the women and children and taking their property and introducing the INSTITUTION OF MARRIAGE to keep the women bonded and under control of the man, deming her and children chattels, just like the property and cattle owned by both. Males like O Reilly are simply SCARED of change and loss of control over women. I mean what will these men do if no wife to cook, clean, sew, work, raise the children, etc?
Monsoonman | Aug 12, 2010, 09:18 PM EDT
Someone mentioned Dan Quayle..Well his son has piqued my interest as he is running for congress in Arizona. His campaign ad starts out with him saying" Obama is the worst president in US history" and he finishes up with "Somebody has to go to Washington and knock the hell out of the place."
Woodkern | Aug 12, 2010, 02:08 PM EDT
Why is this an Irish story? Jennifer Aniston is from California. Gretchen Carlson is from Minnesota. Bill O'Reill is from Lawn Guyland.
sailmaker | Aug 12, 2010, 01:31 PM EDT
He's just too old to remember former VP Dan (Who, me? Quayle) and Candice Bergen! Mr. Potatoe-Head had criticized Bergen's TV character for being a single mother. (PS: if you're not old enough to remember, VP Quayle couldn't spell potato; couldn't do much of anything else, either).
iamrobroy | Aug 12, 2010, 11:06 AM EDT
Bill is a hypocrite. Bill is destroying the USA by having plastic surgery to make his nose look like a penis.
hancock | Aug 12, 2010, 10:01 AM EDT
We're rasiing their kids with their welfare and food stamps.
TinyJudy | Aug 12, 2010, 02:59 AM EDT
I think Bill O'Reilly had gone CRAZY. Are you working on ratings? I used to think you were smart. No more. Women are raising most of the children in this country all by themselves because all those wonderful men decided they didn't want to have to deal with it. More women are raising children alone than ever. Why should a woman think she has to have a damn man to have a child when that S.O.B. is going to leave anyway. You have totally lost it.
oilzzfan | Aug 11, 2010, 11:47 PM EDT
he is another fine example of why abortion needs to stay legal!!! just like lady gagggga, quit giving them any press!!!
Monsoonman | Aug 11, 2010, 09:44 PM EDT
She'll just hire Mexican nannies like the rest of the upwardly mobile people do in our part of the world. The kids will be bilingual by the time their two as they spend more time with their Mexican nannies than they do with their parents.
CJRego12 | Aug 11, 2010, 08:20 PM EDT
Mr. O'Reilly could regroup, or rethink, considering past morality issues.
Ohforheavesake | Aug 11, 2010, 07:49 PM EDT
Get over it people. There is no correlation between being a single parent and a criminals. Patrick1945 get a life. Man or woman. And yes there are many single parent men out there as well. I have many friends that have raised kids single parents and are fun. There are no guarantees that having a Mom and a dad will make a happier child or better off child. I have seen plenty of children turn out bad with both parents. Get off it people this is not "Daddy Knows Bests" or "The Brady Bunch".
patrick1945 | Aug 11, 2010, 07:05 PM EDT
A second thought on the matter. There's got to be better things to write about that O'Reilly talked about on his show.
patrick1945 | Aug 11, 2010, 07:01 PM EDT
How many criminals come from single parent homes? I am not a liberal so I won't call Miss Aniston any names, but I do disagree with her view. Maybe a single parent with Aniston's money can do a good job, but in general, to be a good single parent is hard to do.
maloney | Aug 11, 2010, 06:48 PM EDT
poor poor jennifer. She wouldn't feel this way if she could keep a man but she can't. Her biggest problem is she's to ugly to stay with. She does have enough money to get laid. She will be gay soon.
johnmartin | Aug 11, 2010, 04:09 PM EDT
I did not know this Irish Central was so Noboma. Mr. O is right on this issue, the girl is a pinhead because like it or not all you Pelosi and Odonnell want-a-be's just cant understand that children need to have a father or a good father figure in there life. If O'Donnell would have had a good father figure, just maybe she would have married for love instead of trying to spite Bush. Go figure
GeorgeDillon | Aug 11, 2010, 02:35 PM EDT
skfooter: I'll let Jen know about your offer. (She doesn't need the necklace).
cottsay | Aug 11, 2010, 02:34 PM EDT
Here is the problem with your argument suerob1. you are turning this into a woman's rights issue and that's not really what OReilly is taking issue with. I am not crazy about Bill O. and I am a huge fan of Jennifer Aniston, howver I must say I am siding w/ OReilly on this. Jennifer Aniston has really been saying whatever necessary to sell movie tickets lately and that bothers me . Movie w/ gerard Butler...ok...invent a romance in the press to get publicity. Movie about a single mother...ok...come out and say this is the latest thing to sell tickets. But that is besides the point. The issue here is not what woman (or male ) parents decide is best for them...it is what is in the best interests of children. Children are not accessories for the wealthy. If you truly love your child-you will surround it in the best situation possible. If you don't plan on that, you shouldn't have a child to begin with. I know a LOT of women who have suffered and have emotional problems because they never had a relationship with their fathers because of one reason or another. O'Reilly just doesn't find it ideal thta a child at some point is told um....your father got paid 50$ to place half of you in a test tube and that is the extent of the releationship he wants with you. this is not an issue about what rights living adults have...(men can find a surrogate mother pretty simply as well by the way). Children should not be all about you feeling personally fulfilled---what is best for the kids should go into that decision. And "women" (Oreilly is worried about the message being sent to girls-need to understand that, as do men.
suerob1 | Aug 11, 2010, 02:03 PM EDT
Where has Bill O'Reilly been the last 25 years?? Once women found out they could get a job and support themselves (circa 1970's), freedom rang true for millions of women. No longer chained to the house by society, women got out, got jobs, and then found out they invented Sperm Banks!! Sorry Bill, the truth hurts -- we don't need men. Maybe some of us WANT men -- BIG DIFFERENCE!
manhattan | Aug 11, 2010, 01:41 PM EDT
What the heck is it with the writers on Irish Central always bashing Bill O'Reilly? I watched that show and he never said Jennifer Anniston is ruining the country. He was correct in being against her saying women don't need a man etc. She has enough money to have all the kids she wants but don't we have enough teenagers having babies where the men take no responsibility ? Who asked for her opinions anyway?
