'Avengers’ movie partly filmed on an iPhone - cost $220 million to make
Images captured on an iPhone find their way into the trailer
Irishman Seamus McGarvey is a name known to the best film directors in the world as the go-to guy to give a film a remarkable look.
But did they ever suspect he'd use an iPhone to film it?
In an interview with the Irish Film & Television Network this week, the Oscar-nominated cinematographer admitted he filmed a couple of shots for the new superhero caper'The Avengers' on an iPhone.
What's more the shots themselves apparently even appear in the first trailer which was released last week.
"The beauty of photography or cinema is that you make every choice based on the content at hand," McGarvey told the IFTN. "On 'The Avengers,' I did a couple of shots on the iPhone and they are in the movie."
"In fact, they are in the trailer!" he laughed. "I understand that sometimes there is no choice and you have to go for the cheapest option, but if you are limited for choice, you can still make poignant decisions that will effect the look of the film."
Have a look at the clip here and see if you can spot the scenes McGarvey captured with his trusty iPhone.
