Isn't it just uplifting, life and faith changing to read stories so painstakingly detailed (written by people who don't know what the concept of spelling entails), of how one 'born in the faith' and ‘a faithful Sunday Mass Catholic,' as if that was all that was needed, decided to drop the whole thing because the relative of a friend of a third cousin twice removed was once a seminarian, a nun or a priest who chucked his/her vows and the celibate life to marry and, by gosh... get out in the world and tell 'the entire truth about how hypocritical people he/she used to live in convent or rectory were truly evil, and she/he could not in all conscience accept to be around such evildoers, so left to marry and live a truly 'virtuous' life instead! --- Don't know about you, but from my perspective I'd say that if my faith in Church, country, family, friendship or workplace depended on what bad example is set by insincere, double-crossing, back-stabbing, lying, cheating, deep conviction-and-faith-lacking sinners gave to me and others... we'd all be better off simply escaping this miserable world in the most expeditious fashion possible. cont'd...

I always feel sad when I hear of or read about the disillusion brought about by thr Church.
Imagine what mothers must feel when vocations that have been fostered end up the way many have.
It wouldn't have been easy for your Jesuit friend Ronnie unless times have changed, I know of many have left with barely any dignity in tact.

I TO was raised a Catholic and attended Catholic schools . two od my best friends became priests . as well as my brother became a Jesuit.well at about age 22 i drifted away from the church . then i Married a very religious catholic Girl and came back to the church for a about 15 yrs.and one of my friends who became a priest was convected for Molesting Children and now serving time in a state prison. and the priest that was a Jesuit left the church after 25 yrs and got Married , after talking with him and he telling me how corrupt and Tainted the church has become. and how they don't practice what they preach.he also said the church is in Decay and losing millions Dollars by paying out on Sexual Charges against the Church. Its really very sad what the Church has become. It would have to be reformed & Reborn before i would go back.Martin sheen has always been one top Actors in my book. too Bad his son Charlie Sheen is a screw up !

Martin Sheen recently was interviewed on BBC Radio 4 (UK) on a programme called 'Desert Island Discs' in which he came across as a very self effacing and genuine person.
He stated that his father was Spanish and his mother Irish. The interview has received wide acclaim. I recommend that anyone interested in the real Martin Sheen listen to it on the BBC radio library service.

Martin Sheen Is the BIGGEST HYPOCRITE on the planet preaching Catholicism saved him practises about how being a Catholic is great – He goes to Mass, He receives The Blessed Sacrament, He goes to Confession – and every chance he gets he shouts his mouth of, supporting Obama and the Murder of the Unborn child – I say again as load as it is possible HYPOCRITE

Just watching an old 1988 documentary produced by Leon Degrande the promoter on Medjugorje where Martin Sheen was being interviewed.
Without being carried away with all the whatever, his open faith was very obvious.
Thank you Martin it was the highlight of the whole documentary.

Irishphotocrap, aren't you the droning bore. Of course every well informed Catholic knows that just because one is Catholic one is not automatically assured of salvation! Salvation is a process of perfecting oneself as Jesus commanded, not the result of a pious and many times meaningless act such as 'accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior.'--- Gearoid4 expressed perfectly the answer to your bigoted slam. But let me make one further point to you: The only reason you know about salvation is because you've read the bible which was compiled by, and through the teaching authority of the Catholic Church. Had it not been for the CC there would not be at this point the Christian cohesion (even though the prots fragmented it) which has existed for two thousand years, and you'd likely be reduced to harassing others on the basis of 'the book of mormon,' on Ellen G White's 'The Desired of Ages,' through some bunk put out by the likes of the Watch Tower, or through some quasi-religious fable made up by any of the snake-oil salespeople who now populate the proddy universe. -- You should be thankful to the CC you have a book that has given you an ordered theology and, frankly, if you believe the bible is 'inspired' it's only because the CC has told you so! That, sir, leaves you no choice but to accept the authority of the CC, period!

Marty Sheen has "been to the mountain top". Besides Charlie, he has another son, Emilio. Charlie is a "lost sheep in the desert". What a talented family! We all know where the name Sheen came from. Hopefully, Charlie will get his act together.

Martin Sheen is a wonder advertisement for the Catholic faith. He realises what an irreplaceable pearl that it is when one encounters very rough patches in life.
@irishphotograh, the Catholic Church being the Church that Christ founded contains all the necessary means to bring one to the full knowledge of the Saviour. Using the reliable three-pronged approach of scripture, tradition and reason She brings to the World the fullness of God's Revelation to us.

Mr. Sheen's father was from Spain, not Mexico, and he is not ashamed of his heritage. "I love being Spanish as much as I love being Irish, and I really love being Irish."

Martin Sheen has embraced his Irish heritage on his mother's side and even has dual American/Irish citizenship. Why infer because his father was Mexican and his legal last name is Estevez that he is being phony about it? And his stage name of Sheen was taken after Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen.
