Right on Katieherk, problably not too much Irish on the paternal Estevez side. Maybe Martin Sheen is a cousin of the Phelan family I know who live in Michigan or of some of the Phelan families I know in Chicago. LOL

Very true, we often don't realise what we have until it is in jeopardy. A crisis in life makes us stop and think - and you get your priorities in order. Stop thinking I have to "go to Mass" , but more importantly "I want to go for love of God." Makes the world look different. Faith is a wonderful thing.

I admire Martin Sheen... he's a good man. He cannot be blamed for the reckless life his son leads. Maybe one day he'll "see the light". Our ancestors come from the same area in Upperchurch, Tipperary with the same name "Phelan". So does that make us relatives?
