A Christmas with special meaning - how Superstorm Sandy was defied by Irish music
Sandy gives new meanings to the holidays in New York
The cover and the interior sleeves come with a witty little bit of Irish nostalgia that you’ll be hard pressed to resist. Think fake silver Christmas trees, festive stockings and huge fake grins on over excited kids.
Yes, that is a Six Million Dollar Man being displayed proudly by one Irish child of the 1970s. Along with motorbike stunt daredevil Evil Kenevil, every house in Ireland bought one of them in that decade.
It’s images like that that connect one Irish Christmas and one Irish family to another in a way that ultimately connects them all. It’s why Daly started the entire project, and it’s a proof of why it will be such a success this holiday season. It’s a perfect blend of nostalgia and fun.
“I asked the artists as well as my friends and family if they had any pictures of themselves in the 1960s, ‘70s and ‘80s. This is what they came back with and I have to say it’s the perfect accompaniment to the album,” she says.
