They've been trading barbs on prime time since at least 2004 and riveting millions. Jon Stewart has memorably insulted Fox New's most pugnacious pundit Bill O'Reilly as the 'thinnest kid at fat camp' and O'Reilly in return telling him his audience 'is a bunch of stoned slackers.'

Now according to the Huffington Post, Stewart and O'Reilly are set to face off at their longest debate ever.

The antagonistic pair's previous match-up's on each other's shows have been hotly anticipated. But this time they're scheduled to face off in a 90-minute debate at George Washington University in Washington, DC on October 6.

The debate, reportedly modeled after the presidential debates has been dubbed 'The Rumble In The Air-Conditioned Auditorium,' and will be livestreamed for a fee, with half of the proceeds going to charity (where the other half goes has not yet been announced).

On his show on Monday O'Reilly took an opportunity to needle Stewart a little bit.

'In order to illuminate the vital issues associated with the upcoming presidential election, Stewart and I will debate man-to-man, eye-to-eye,' O'Reilly scoffed. 'Well, not really. He's a tiny guy.'

I thought dueling was illegal. Stewart must have gotten the choice of weapons. Poor Bill, RIP!
at least there is a chance that those living in the Fox bubble will hear another side of the debate but, don´t write off O´Reilly, Stewart is usually very polite with him and O´Reilly takes full advantage.
Talk about a non-event! A fine comedian who draws hilarity from accurate observations and a right wing "pundit" whose sick jokes he tries to pass for truth. It sounds like sort of a "ships that pass in the night" type thing. How can you "debate" anything of substance with someone like Reilly who has never demonstrated any concern for verifiable FACTS? If you have any sense of class and try to avoid crude words like "liar," it will come across as gutless as the Tuesday New York Times article on the Texas woman driving the multi-state effort to purge state voting rolls ("Truth The Vote" - thousands of the challenged registrations turned out to be valid registrations). The lady claims to have been a "fairly a-political" person innocently running her firm distributing oil drilling equipment (just like any other normal housewife) until something happened in 2008 which showed her the country was moving in a direction which would harm her children. She never says what that was that happened in 2008. What could it have been? Oh yes! A black man was elected president!
a thing of nothing - leibowitz Jon will kick his arse.
