Irish travel company CIE is offering a special romantic vacation package to US visitors.

With recent movies like “P.S. I Love You” and “Leap Year” filmed in Ireland, it's logical that the country should be linked with romance – from sunsets over Galway Bay to beach walks on Dingle.

CIE Tours International is giving tourists a chance to take a “Romantic Ireland” vacation, a nine-day/seven-night escorted trip. It costs from $1,398 for land only or from $1,748 with airfare from New York-JFK.

Ideal for celebrating a honeymoon or anniversary, the holiday brings guests to the scenic south and west coasts of Ireland. It starts and ends in Dublin, while also taking visitors to natural and historical sites in Galway and Connemara, such as the Cliffs of Moher, the Dingle Peninsula, Killarney, Bantry, Blarney, and Cashel.

Designed with couples in mind, the itinerary includes stays in romantic old-world deluxe hotels, with candlelight dinners or pub and restaurant meals and music. It also involves activities such as a catamaran cruise on Killary Harbor, a horse-drawn jaunting car ride, a ferry ride across the Shannon River, or a chance to kiss the Blarney Stone.

The price covers deluxe first class hotel accommodations in rooms with a private bath for seven nights, a full Irish breakfast daily, six dinners, and a full sightseeing program with a professional Irish tour director.

Tourists will also gain admissions to “The Book of Kells” at Trinity College, the Cliffs of Moher, Blarney Woollen Mills, the Rock of Cashel and a host of other special sites.

Departures start April 3, and run weekly on Saturdays, through November 20. A 10-day tour with an extra day/night in Dublin is also available.
