St. Patrick’s Festival’s I Love My City cultural program, now in its fourth year, includes 18 events and happenings that will take place in some of Dublin’s most beautiful, historic and often hidden venues and spaces.
Curated by St. Patrick’s Festival, the series of evocative and intimate cultural events and happenings, featuring both established and emerging artists from a variety of disciplines including literature, music, film, spoken-word, photography, design, visual art, and more will be presented over the four days of the Festival, March 14 to 17.
The events are either free ticketed or paid ticketed and those wishing to register or buy tickets for all events should visit www.stpatricksfestival.ie. The I Love My City program will be staged in the beautiful surroundings of some of the city’s most culturally significant venues including: The Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA), Marsh’s Library, Belvedere House, The Chapel Royal Dublin Castle, The Pillar Room at the Rotunda Hospital, The Little Museum, and many more site-specific and pop-up spaces throughout the city.
Speaking at the launch Heather Humphreys, Minister for Arts, Heritage and The Gaeltacht commended the program.
“As a country, Ireland embodies the best of what it means to be creative, passionate and artistically courageous. These qualities are perfectly captured by some of our most talented performers as part of I Love My City,” said the Minister.
“Initiatives such as I Love My City, which foster and encourage artists and performers, play a very important role in maintaining and promoting Ireland’s reputation for artistic excellence. I would like to commend St. Patrick’s Festival, especially those involved in developing the I Love My City program, for their artistic vision and I would encourage as many people to register for tickets to experience the best of Irish culture this St. Patrick’s Festival.”
Particular highlights of this year’s program include:
- “The Ultimate Sunday” in Belvedere House when I Love My City will bring the Sunday papers to life through talks, interviews, live music, comedy, games, films and more.
- Bia Beatha at the Guinness Storehouse – a unique dining experience, celebrating Irish cuisine and culture in a setting filled with old world charm
- The BoNs Synth Ensemble, a debut musical performance by Glenn P Keating at Freemasons’ Hall Molesworth Street
- A special screening of “The Snapper” plus Q&A with acclaimed Irish actor Colm Meaney which will take place in the appropriate surrounds of the Pillar Room in Dublin’s Rotunda Hospital.
The program offers something for everyone in the family, including children, with Mad Myths at the RHA where children are invited to join a playful, interactive session of stories and songs to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
