Spending a summer in Ireland by the sea is millions of people’s dream, but right now it need not cost quite as much as you might think, especially for our cousins in the United States.

Right now in Ireland, despite ongoing growth in the property market, house prices remain 38% below what they were at their peak in 2007. This, coupled with the fact that the dollar remains relatively strong against the euro, means that there are still some bargains to be had.

These might not last for long though. Ireland’s Central Statistic Office reports that prices once again racked up double digit growth in April, of 15.8%. A somewhat tamer result than the 16.8% surge in prices recorded the previous month.

Ireland boasts of 1,970 miles of scenic coast, which snakes from savage rocky cliffs and inlets with crashing ocean waves into calm, glassy bays adorned by golden sands. The sound, smell, serenity and proximity to lively coastal life should be a draw for anyone.

Celebrating our little island we decided to take a look at some properties for sale around the coast of Ireland all for under $108,000 (€100,000).
