These American and Canadian students at the intensive Irish Language Programme in Galway, would put a lot of Irish people to shame as they show of their “Gaelige” skills in this short film.

Many of the students have come to Ireland to connect with their ancestors while others are using the opportunity to progress their careers. Speaking to the Feenish Production crew at the Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaeilge, National University of Ireland, in Galway, they spoke about what brought them to Ireland and why they’ll be coming back.

It’s great to see the Irish weather was behaving for these students. The welcoming people and beautiful surrounding areas in Galway also got a unanimous thumbs up as did the Irish language, of course.

The program, held in An Cheathrú Rua (Carraroe), is supported by the Dept. of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. These lucky students were supported in attending this course by the Fulbright Commission (US scholars) and the Ireland Canada University Foundation (Canada scholars), and in some cases by their home universities.
