There’s a whole new way to see all the sights of Dublin – rain or shine!

On Tuesday, September 23, luxury transport provider Dublin Coach unveiled its latest endeavor, Dublin Cityscape Luxury Sightseeing Tours.

The Cityscape tour route is extensive, visiting Dublin’s top attractions with 28 stops across the city, extending out to RDS and Ballsbridge areas. Operating every 15 minutes from designated stops, seven days a week, Cityscape peels back the veneer of the modern Dublin to reveal its hidden gems, its history and its folklore.

Resplendent in a unique green livery, each coach in the new fleet comes complete with an on board Storyteller, multilingual audio, full climate control, air conditioning, leather seating, free WIFI, restrooms, and advanced safety features. Cityscape customers will also be treated to on board refreshments and complimentary entry to Irish Greyhound Racing events.

The launch took place at the RDS in Dublin and was attended by special guests Lord Mayor of Dublin, Christy Burke and top Irish broadcaster Ryan Turbidy.

Speaking at the launch, Mayor Burke said. "As Lord Mayor of Dublin, I wish to congratulate [CEO] John O`Sullivan and Dublin Coach on their new tourism service - Cityscape. I believe that this new Luxury Tour Service of the City will add to the overall tourism experience and remind all visitors of the hidden gems intrinsic to Dublin.”

He wished Dublin Coach “every success in this new endeavor."

Dublin Coach was founded in 2003 with the mission of revolutionizing the commuter`s travel experience, providing quality, comfortable transport at affordable prices.

This first phase of the Cityscape tours marks a €4 million investment by Dublin Coach and has created jobs for 40 new employees.

Perhaps the most exciting innovation is the Cityscape Storyteller. The “Seanachai,” or Storyteller, is a character deeply embedded in Irish culture. Cityscape carries on this great tradition of storytelling through the use of specifically trained guides who have graduated from a special training academy and have studied, in depth, the fascinating and often little known aspects of our capital city.

The storytellers are selected through an intensive recruitment process and come from a variety of backgrounds including archaeology, thatching, acting, music, historians, sport, journalism and much more.

As an added bonus for the tourist, a Cityscape ticket entitles the bearer to travel on board the fleet for an additional two days - pay for day 1, and day 2 and 3 are free. Likewise there are special rates for children, senior citizens, families, students and groups.

Speaking about the launch, John O` Sullivan, CEO of Dublin Coach said "We at Dublin Coach are delighted today to launch our Dublin City Luxury Sightseeing Tour – Cityscape. To us at Dublin Coach, we believe that the journey is of primary importance for the tourism experience. Indeed, through Cityscape, the tourist will experience a completely authentic, immersive tour of Dublin City in pure luxury.

“Dublin City is abundant with history, culture and hidden gems. Each of these elements will be intrinsic to the Cityscape Tour. However most importantly, we recognize that it is the people of Dublin that make the City memorable. Our team of Dublin Cityscape Storytellers will be delighted to share their stories and love of the Capital City with visitors."
