Aer Lingus have opened a new business lounge at JetBlue’s state-of-the-art terminal 5 at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), in New York. The Aer Lingus business lounge epitomizes the airline’s traditional Irish roots while providing modern convenience, functionality, and relaxation to guests.

The lounge provides an oasis of calm within a busy terminal with natural-stone wall accents, oak floors, raindrop-shaped light fixtures and pint glasses along the bar. Business Class and Gold Circle members will enjoy the warmth of Ireland before they begin their journeys.

The lounge forms part of an overall re-launch of Aer Lingus business class service.

The newly launched Business Class service provides a unique space on board based on a customer’s needs - depending on whether they wish to sleep, work, dine, or simply relax. The new business lounge at JFK seeks to replicate these features for guests before they depart.

New benefits of the lounge include:

- A selection of soups and sandwiches, wines and spirits, available to all lounge guests

- In addition, an exclusive pre-flight dining service available for business class guests offering a flavour of the best of modern Irish cuisine

- Business centre with complimentary wi-fi

- Separate calming area with chaise lounge style seating

- Revitalizing areas with TV and shower facilities

- Stunning view of airfield and the historic TWA Flight Center

Aer Lingus and JetBlue have been partners since 2008, and in 2012, Aer Lingus became the first foreign carrier to join JetBlue at Terminal 5, providing its guests with a premium airport experience whether they are traveling only with Aer Lingus between New York and Ireland or connecting to one of JetBlue’s many destinations across the Americas.

Speaking on the occasion Aer Lingus Vice President North America Jack Foley said, “Our new lounge at JFK is part of the wider upgrade to our business class product, offering guests the highest standards of comfort, service and convenience. An essential element of the project for us was that our business class guests begin their journey when they enter the lounge. The design reflects trends of modern Ireland while delivering functional elegance, similar in style to our lounges at Dublin and London Heathrow. Terminal 5 is one of the top ten terminals in the world and we now have our own signature lounge, which makes the T5 experience for Aer Lingus guests extra special.”

“The opening of the Aer Lingus business lounge marks another exciting first for JetBlue and T5,” said Marty St. George, Executive Vice President Commercial and Planning at JetBlue. “We’ve built an excellent relationship with Aer Lingus since first partnering in 2008, and we are proud to see that relationship continue to grow with this state-of-the-art addition to our award-winning terminal at JFK.”
