Will.i.am and Bono were reported to have had dinner at a ritzy restaurant in Monaco.

The Black Eyed Peas front man was in St. Tropez to DJ an exclusive party at the Byblos nightclub. Sources say that he was paid over $100,000 for a two-hour set.

Summoned by Bono, he flew by helicopter to meet up with his rock star pal at his home Ezile.

A source said “Will.i.am hates helicopters but he willingly jumped on one to spend a few hours with Bono. They've been friends for quite a number of years and have loads in common aside from music.”

The U2 front man has been holed up in his villa in the South of France, since May, recuperating from emergency back surgery.  Rod Stewart and Lance Armstrong are among the other celebrities who have been making trips to the South of France to boost the star’s spirits.

Will.i.am has produced songs on U2’s last album, “No Line on the Horizon” and Bono lent his vocal stylings to Will.i.am’s anthem for Barack O’Bama “America’s Song”.

Rumor has it that they are in talks to work together on a new project.

"Obviously Will.i.am produced a few tracks on the last U2 album, so it's no surprise that their latest meeting has prompted speculation that he and Bono could be soon ready to hit the studio together again" said a source.

Hopefully the two can make beautiful and profitable music together as U2’s last album is its slowest-selling album in more than a decade.

Bono will be back on the road with U2 August 6th in Turin for the European Leg of the “360 Tour”.
