Joe Biden has filmed his cameo in the hit NBC hit comedy “Parks & Recreation.” Biden’s episode will air next Thursday.

He’s not the first politician to appear in the comedy, which depicts the small town politics of the fictitious town Pawnee, Indiana. In September, senators Olympia Snowe and Barbara Boxer, as well as former presidential candidate John McCain were featured in the show.

The executive producer of the show, Michael Schur, said that Biden displayed acting talent during the filming and even improvised. He also said they had to keep the filming secret until after the election.

Schur told E! Weekly, “We couldn't air it before the election because it was the equivalent of a campaign contribution to advertise for one candidate.”

Biden’s minute-long scene sees him star alongside “SNL” vet Amy Poehler who plays the lead character Leslie Knope who has declared her love for Biden. Knope’s fiancée sets up the meeting as an engagement present.

The producer said it was surprisingly easy to get face-to-face time with Biden. He said, “His staff really loves the show, and he apparently had watched the show with his family and his family liked it.”

“He was clearly a big fan of Amy…He said some very nice things about the show and talked about how the pro-public service message was meaningful.”
