U2 named the top-paid musicians in the world by Forbes

The Forbes list of the top 25 highest-paid musicians certainly showed that the way to make money is touring. Stadium packers U2 and Jon Bon Jovi came out on top followed by Elton John, Lady Gaga and Michael Buble.

Forbes list is made up of all pretax income earned from May 2010 to May 2011 and Bono and the boys in U2 didn’t do too badly earning a cool $195 million in the last years with their “360 Tour” which grossed more than $700 million in total.

The magazine also noted that some rock stars were thriftier than others with their income. For example Gaga grossed nearly as much as Elton John however the costs of her elaborate shows were greater.

Their list includes artists from the age of 17 (Justin Bieber) to 68 (Paul McCartney). Also the number of men is far great than women with just five solo females making the cut as opposed to 13 men.
