Authorities in Barcelona, Spain have fined U2 for noise pollution. The band must pay $22,000 for playing for too long and too loudly during their rehearsals for the Spanish leg of the '360 Tour' in June 2009.

A spokesperson explained that the band had rehearsed for two hours over the allotted time limit, until midnight. Also the sound levels were above those set by the authorities.

Residents near Barcelona's soccer club, Camp Nou stadium, complained to officials about the noise.

The spokesperson for the city said that they are now studying the case surrounding Shakira. She may be getting a fine for recording a video in the city without a permit, dancing in a fountain and riding a motorbike without a helmet.
