Right now, one of the largest Irish diaspora communities in Boston is being lovingly served with the authentic Irish pub experience by the world’s largest inflatable pub: The PaddyWagon Pub.
Established by Michael McNamara from Galway and Eoghan Cahill from Meath, the Boston-based company is proving a great hit with its patrons who can hire the pub out for special occasions for up to 80 people.
With expertly poured pints of Irish stout and craft beer, visitors to the pop-up pub can also enjoy the best in Irish cuisine, from Irish stew, to soda bread, to the Irish post-night out staple, curry fries.
Depending on what you're looking for, the pub can be set up at the location of your choice (where you have permission to do so, of course) and provide Irish dancers, traditional music, a DJ, a “perfect pint” pouring workshop, or even some adorable Irish wolfhounds to play with.
Of course, the pub may be slightly more airy than your normal, more permanent Irish pub, but once inside the roaring fire, beautiful fireplace, and homey lighting features all printed right onto the walls will soon make you forget you’re surrounded by vinyl.
“Irish pubs are known all over the globe as being the most fun, entertaining and welcoming bars in the world,” co-founder Cahill told BostInno.
“So, we wanted to take this one step further and bring this authentic Irish bar experience to people’s backyard.”
With two pubs available—one for intimate occasions and the second for larger groups—The Paddywagon Pub is certainly building on the success of “The Sheebeen”, the pub on wheels previously available in Boston.
“What makes the PaddyWagon different is that it’s the one stop deal. As mentioned earlier, we bring the authentic Irish bar experience into your backyard,” continued Cahill.
“You can just rent the structure and throw your own party or you can avail of our services including drink advisory, bartenders, food and entertainment. We can cater for a small party right through to a large corporate event. And once the party is over, we clean everything up and leave, we really take the effort out of having a party at your house.”
