Irish band The Script have been nominated for the coveted Teen Choice awards which will take place in LA next month. Their song “Breakeven” is nominated for the Choice Rock Track Award. In the past year the band has made valiant strides to break into the US music scene. Last month the Irish group received their first US number one.

The Script consists of Danny O'Donoghue, Mark Sheehan and Glen Power, all of which hail from Dublin. The Irish trio frequently play here in the US and have appeared on several popular shows including the Jimmy Fallen and Ellen DeGeneres show. Earlier this year they received the award for “Best Live Act” at the Irish Meteor Awards.

The award ceremony will take place on Monday August 9th on FOX. Fans ages 13-19 can vote once each day for all of their favorite Teen Choice 2010 nominees on the website. The awards will be hosted by Kissed a Girl star Katie Perry. Instead of presenting winners with a traditional statuette, winners receive an authentic mini size surf board.

The band are encouraging their fans to get voting via their website, saying: "If you love Breakeven, now it's the time to show it!"
