Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle could become a style icon for the ages if New York based celebrity photographer Annie Leibowitz gets her way (and she often does).

Leibowitz is said to be desperate to snap SuBo for the snooty fashion magazine and has enlisted the help of legendary Vogue creative director Grace Coddington to make it happen.

The formidable pair have joined forces to persuade Vogue editor Anna Wintour to put the 48 year-old from Blackburn, West Lothian on the cover of the American fashion bible.

If Wintour gives the project the green light, it'll be a spread to remember. Coddington told reporters: “I wanted to get Susan Boyle to play the wicked witch in the December issue’s Hansel and Gretel spectacular. Annie Leibowitz wanted her too but I think Anna thought it was just all too British and not right.”

Just recently Beyonce’s husband US superstar rapper Jay Z claimed that Susan could become a global fashion icon. He told reporters "What Susan's achieved is unbelievable. Everybody wants a piece of her and the market for her is huge. I could see her with her own clothing range. Sure, why not?"
