Irish rockers The Script have learned from the best.

The Celtic up and comers - comprising singer Danny O'Donoghue, guitarist Mark Sheehan and drummer Glen Power – have wowed the public and their fellow hit makers with their latest album Science & Faith.

But this week Sheehan revealed he awestruck when The Beatles legend Paul McCartney took time hang out with the band and share some advice about playing to large crowds.

"I think the best advice was from Paul McCartney - that was a massive thing for us," Sheehan told the press this week.

"We got a chance to meet McCartney and you were definitely watching a masterclass right there. He came in and gave us his time, he just chilled out with us and hung out. The things he said about going into massive arenas and playing stadiums but still being able to tell the story of a song, pull the whole audience in and still make it intimate."

"These were all the things we were really worried about because we are a small unit."

The Script also have strong words of praise for their fellow Irish rockers U2, who invited them to support the bands tour in 2009.

"U2 have really taken us under their wing and let us tour with them,” Mark added. “So the fact that they know the power of mentioning a band like us has given us a lot of attention, so that was very nice of them."
